2010–2024 Toyota 4Runner (4th & 5th Gen)
The RCI Offroad TRD Integration Skid Plate for 2010–2024 Toyota 4Runner (4th & 5th Gen) bolts directly under your front end to shield the differential, oil pan, and front cross-members from rock strikes, logs, and trail debris. If you run a TRD Pro with a factory TRD front skid, this plate fills the gap and ties in seamlessly with RCI's transmission and transfer-case protection—giving you true underbody coverage without the cost of replacing your OEM skid.
Purpose-Built Protection for 4Runner Underbody
Underbody damage is expensive and often happens fast on the trail. This skid plate does one job and does it right: it keeps rocks and obstacles away from your most vulnerable forward components. Built from 1/4" laser-cut aluminum, it's thick enough to take punishment without flex.
- Material & Construction: 1/4" laser-cut aluminum—rigid, corrosion-resistant, and engineered to handle repeated impacts without cracking or bending.
- Coverage Zone: Protects the front differential, oil pan, and both front cross-members. Covers the areas that OEM and aftermarket skids often leave exposed.
- TRD Integration: Designed to bolt directly under a factory TRD Front Skid Plate and mesh cleanly with RCI transmission and transfer-case plates for a unified protection system.
- Service Access: Built-in service openings allow oil changes and routine maintenance without unbolting the entire skid plate.
- Reinforced Design: Edge reinforcement between cross-members maximizes strength and eliminates flex under load—critical for serious trail use.
Fitment: 2010–2024 Toyota 4Runner (4th & 5th Gen)
This skid plate fits all 4Runner trim levels and configurations across both generations. Designed specifically for the TRD Pro lineup but compatible across the model range. Use the fitment verifier above to confirm compatibility with your exact configuration.

Product FAQ
Do all 4Runners have skid plates?
?
No. Base and mid-trim 4Runners ship without factory skid plates. Only TRD Pro models and certain higher trims come equipped with OEM front skid plates from the factory. All other 4Runners require aftermarket protection if underbody coverage is desired.
Does 4Runner TRD off-road have skid plates?
The TRD Off-Road trim does not include a factory front skid plate as standard. Only the TRD Pro model includes OEM skid protection. TRD Off-Road buyers who want matching protection need to add an aftermarket system.
Are skid plates necessary?
Yes, if you trail drive or traverse rocky terrain regularly. Stock 4Runners expose the oil pan, differential, and transmission to rock strikes. A single impact can puncture the oil pan or crack the differential cover—repairs that cost $500–$3,000+. Skid plates prevent that damage from happening in the first place.
How to install TRD skid plate 4Runner?
Refer to fitment guide and RCI's installation documentation for step-by-step bolt patterns and torque specs. Installation typically requires lifting the 4Runner, unbolting old hardware if present, and securing the new plate to frame attachment points. Most owners use a lift or jack stands and complete the job in 1–2 hours with basic hand tools.
What is the purpose of skid plate?
A skid plate shields critical underbody components—engine oil pan, transmission, transfer case, and differentials—from impact damage. Off-road, rocks, logs, and stumps strike the undercarriage. A steel or aluminum skid plate absorbs these impacts and protects fuel tanks, brake lines, and suspension components from punctures, cracks, and misalignment.
